1. THE PROBLEM.

While playing the cello, a tremendous number of different vibrations are generated in the instrument, which build up and prevent each other from vibrating freely.

By using an EndPin, it is now possible to remove these disruptive mechanical energies from the instrument in real time, so that every newly produced note can immediately vibrate freely and sing again.

The connection to the floor is perfect to transmit these vibrations into the floor.

2. FUNCTION NEEDS PHYSICS.

In order to be able to divert the resonances as quickly as possible, it is necessary to choose a material with the highest possible sound velocity.

Brass has a conduction velocity of 4300 m/s, stainless steel 5800 m/s and titanium 6100 meters per second, so that titanium would therefore “actually” be the best material to choose.

However, various sound tests have shown that titanium makes the sound short and hard, so it quickly became clear that this should not be the only criterion to be considered.

3. MUSIC NEEDS HARMONY AND BEAUTY.

Various sound tests have shown that each material has its own unique sound signature and therefore always a major influence on the sound of the cello as soon as it is attached to the instrument.

Just by “listening” to the different materials we found out that some materials had very beautiful and valuable tonal characteristics, which led to an extraordinary beauty when we combined certain materials in a defined amount.

Finally, our unique blend of materials was born, which is now the foundation for the function and the beautiful sound of the INSTRUMAGIC Meisterstachel.

FAQs

1. The OPTIMAL TEST conditions.

The less you are in your mind and the more you go into your heart when testing, the more you will hear, but above all FEEL, what the MASTERSTACHEL give you and the listeners as enrichment.

To hear the differences best, we always recommend playing MUSIC and not just producing notes or scales. Because that's exactly what the MEISTERSTACHEL was developed for. To make MUSIC. With the heart. This means that the heart also listens and feels all the changes. And the listener feels it too. But if you only play notes, then the sound comes from the head and without feelings and emotions.

We also recommend a concert hall as a an environment for the test trial, because especially there, you can hear every single difference and the value of each MEISTERSTACHEL.

2. How to FIND the RIGHT MEISTERSTACHEL?

We always recommend starting with the CLASSIC ONE. It usually shows a significant improvement in performance immediately on almost any cello or bass. If an instrument does not immediately resonate with the CLASSIC ONE, we recommend trying the next model step by step until you find the one that resonates perfectly with your specific instrument. You will FEEL it!

Some instruments react very strongly to the various MEISTERSTACHEL, others less so. This is why the most expensive MEISTERSTACHEL does not automatically lead to the best results.

It is always about finding your PERFECT MATCH.

3. Is the Tip REPLACEable?

No! That would mean that it would have to be screwed down, which means that it could come loose at any time during playing, which would be a disaster at a concert or recording session. That was never an option for us, because we strive for perfection.

The tips are made from specially selected, hardened tool steel and should last a lifetime if handled with care.

We didn't want to use materials like tungsten for the tip because, like lead, it is very toxic, has very low energy and produces a dark and muffled sound.

We tried materials such as various ceramics and even diamond. But above all, the sound was never as good as we needed and wanted, and the tips always broke into pieces as soon as they even lightly hit a hard surface like stone.
